Age: 14 , 8th Grade at St. Therese School

Project Theme: Drum History

Career Interests: I would like to study mechanical engineering.  I learned about it through my brother.  He graduated from the UW with a Mechanical Engineering degree.

Noted for:

  • Being a twin in my class, my brother Andre had a great Podcast as well.
  • My interest increased when we started to work with the Audio/Mixing Software.
  • I enjoyed helping my classmates with the Software. (MixCraft)

Personal Interests: I enjoy drawing, especially with pencil.  Lately, I've been getting into mixing music on the computer.  I also play a lot of sports like track, basketball and football.

What the scholarship means to him: "When I heard I had won the scholarship I thought, 'It's good to know someone believes in me. I'm proud of myself.' I'll keep designing more Podcasts."

Project Theme: Drum History

Career Interests: " I like to help people with their problems. I think that I will become either a Psychiatrist or Psychologist."

Noted for:

  • My humor and appropriate timing
  • My love for the UW Huskies
  • Great writing and articulation
  • Asking brilliant thought provoking questions

Personal Interests: I enjoy listening to talk radio. Some of my favorites are Mitch in the Morning and Political programs

What the scholarship means to him: "I feel that it is a great accomplishment and I hope to achieve many more."

Project Theme:
The World in Six Songs

Career Interests: I really like to know how things work, and I also enjoy taking things apart and trying to fix them. I'm interested in engineering although I am not sure of what type yet.

Noted for:

  • My high level of enthusiasm towards the lessons and the project.
  • Working on my project at home which wasn’t a requirement.
  • Being a class leader and helping other students

Personal Interests: I enjoy soccer, basketball, and reading. Sometimes I like to work on math problems in my free time.

What the scholarship means to him: "It would mean being one step closer to be able to go to college."

The annual Industry Achievement Awards are a time of celebration for our industry.  They recognize the accomplishments of the best and brightest individuals, companies and students during the past year. This year there was even more to celebrate, as we marked the WTIA’s 25th Anniversary!
