Full Year of Seminars for a New Fellow

New fellows to the Martinez Fellowship receive the opportunity to network and collaborate with other educators of color within a trusted community along with receiving high quality professional development designed to complement their university instruction. A full year of seminars includes the summer retreat, 5 seminars, and networking events. The retreat is a three-day intensive conference in which thought leaders share their experience through interactive workshops, and fellows receive intensive professional development. The seminars are focused on providing timely professional development from experts in the field to fellows, as well as offering an opportunity for them to share their experiences. Providing a full year of an interactive experience for a new fellow contributes to not only improving teacher diversity, but the retention of these educators through a supportive system.
