Our program is driven by a commitment to confront and help dismantle longstanding injustices in education. We work to support educational leaders, in helping them disrupt - and ultimately transform - institutionalized systems of oppression and supremacy.
We put this commitment into action by empowering and helping sustain BIPOC leaders in education by collaborating with school districts, universities, nonprofits, and community organizations. Through interactive workshops and professional development, we support BIPOC leaders to integrate liberatory practices into their daily work.
We are guided by our belief that every student deserves to learn and thrive, especially those furthest from educational justice – our BIPOC students. By supporting more leaders of color in our educational communities, we ensure more affirming and sustainable environments that honor and reflect students' diverse identities.

Education EnCounter uses the Liberation Pedagogy™ framework to embolden our leaders of color to chart their own path for growth and change. To guide the framework, our program is also centered on "headwork" and "heartwork"and is rooted in “community”.
Headwork
Professional development centered around anti-oppressive and antiracist practices as leaders in education.
Heartwork
The deeper inner work of healing from trauma and undoing inherited oppressive beliefs, practices, and ideologies. We prioritize mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.
Community
Consistently engaging, reflecting, and sharing in community with others.
Curated Workshops

Leaders benefit from learning and leading in a space designed for them. Our program provides leaders with room to explore their own identities. And challenge oppressive practices and systems to become liberated leaders.
