Are you willing to share your knowledge and career experience with students? Do you have an interesting story about the lessons you’ve learned while building your career and have helpful tips to share with the next generation of leaders? By volunteering as a guest speaker, students learn valuable information about careers that will help shape their futures. You can be the person who inspires them!

Provide a fun and insightful field trip for our students by hosting a tour of your corporate headquarters or worksite! One way we inspire our students and connect their learning to the real world is by introducing them to new environments, immersing them in the realities of corporate and professional culture. With this type of exposure, students start to understand the variety of opportunities available to them and see how their learning applies to achieving their dreams.

Location: Accredited Postsecondary Institutions in King and Pierce Counties (Virtual Opportunities Available!)

Time Commitment: 1 or 2 days


One of the most effective ways for students to envision themselves earning a college degree is by visiting a college campus! It allows them to picture themselves as part of the student community and see it as a real possibility and a goal to strive for. Provide PC support with troubleshooting and programming at our office in the White Center neighborhood.

Provide administrative support to TAF with general office management, clerical work, filing, mailing, and more.

Event volunteers assist on the event day for set-up, guest assistance, registration, or clean-up. Volunteers may also choose to be involved in event planning.

Volunteers can organize, lead, and help execute company projects that may fall outside the scope of regular duties. The specific responsibilities and purpose of projects may vary.

This opportunity is excellent for organizations! Participate in this citywide day of volunteerism to give back and take action to improve the city we love. Usually held in July, check for the official date on their website.

During the school year, volunteers mentor students through college and career decisions and projects, including the annual STEM Expo and quarterly exhibitions. At the elementary level, students benefit from volunteers who provide project direction and support during quarterly exhibitions.

TAF programming incorporates workshops, delivered by community partners and volunteers, in financial literacy, resume building, interviewing, and web development to prepare students for the future. Additionally, we partner with companies to provide hackathons and other exciting program opportunities to extend student learning beyond the classroom. Do you want to make an impact on your community? Join our Speed Networking Event! This event is designed to connect students with professionals from organizations such as Amazon and other local industry partners. The goal is to create a fast-paced, engaging environment where students rotate through short, timed conversations with professionals from various fields. Our students' interests are mostly in tech, business, design, engineering, and healthcare. Each interaction will give students a chance to ask questions, hear career stories, and build connections in a low-pressure, high-energy format. Click here for the event breakdown!

Time Committment: Varios shifts from 7:25am to 1:55pm


Help us spark curiosity during Hour of Code this year! Volunteers will lead a ready-to-teach, 50-minute coding lesson using Code.org coding games in science classes. A teacher will be present, and student laptops are provided. We’re seeking volunteers with at least basic coding familiarity (more experience welcome). Leading the lesson is preferred; classroom helpers are also appreciated. Choose what fits your schedule: 1–2 class periods, a half day, or a full day. A brief virtual training will be hosted on Microsoft Teams in the first week of December. TAF background check required. There will be coffee, food, and a small thank-you gift.

We are looking for Video Game Developers to help with curriculum writing and teaching the course. These volunteers will work closely with students and help them design their own projects throughout the school year.

Support our 8th graders as they prepare their project for our annual invent for Impact event! We are looking for volunteers who can help our students work with microcontrollers, specifically Micro:bits and Arduino

Bethaday Community Learning Space (BCLS) is not only our office, but also a versatile, affordable, and eco-friendly nonprofit event venue nestled in a park in Seattle. We need a volunteer with prior experience managing social media for a venue or organization. This person would handle our regular online content and engagement for the BCLS. They should be comfortable creating basic visuals, understanding different platforms (like Instagram, Facebook, etc.), and maintaining a consistent posting calendar without extensive daily supervision.

A dedicated volunteer to clean the furniture in the storage room and main classroom areas on a monthly or semimonthly basis.
