Are you willing to share your knowledge and career experience with students? Do you have an interesting story about the lessons you’ve learned while building your career and have helpful tips to share with the next generation of leaders? By volunteering as a guest speaker, students learn valuable information about careers that will help shape their futures. You can be the person who inspires them!

Location: Your Site in King County or Pierce County

Provide a fun and insightful field trip for our students by hosting a tour of your corporate headquarters or worksite! One way we inspire our students and connect their learning to the real world is by introducing them to new environments, immersing them in the realities of corporate and professional culture. With this type of exposure, students start to understand the variety of opportunities available to them and see how their learning applies to achieving their dreams.

Location: Accredited Postsecondary Institutions in King and Pierce Counties (Virtual Opportunities Available!)

Time Commitment: 1 or 2 days


One of the most effective ways for students to envision themselves earning a college degree is by visiting a college campus! It allows them to picture themselves as part of the student community and see it as a real possibility and a goal to strive for. Provide PC support with troubleshooting and programming at our office in the White Center neighborhood.

Provide administrative support to TAF with general office management, clerical work, filing, mailing, and more.

Event volunteers assist on the event day for set-up, guest assistance, registration, or clean-up. Volunteers may also choose to be involved in event planning.

Volunteers can organize, lead, and help execute company projects that may fall outside the scope of regular duties. The specific responsibilities and purpose of projects may vary.

This opportunity is excellent for organizations! Participate in this citywide day of volunteerism to give back and take action to improve the city we love. Usually held in July, check for the official date on their website.

During the school year, volunteers mentor students through college and career decisions and projects, including the annual STEM Expo and quarterly exhibitions. At the elementary level, students benefit from volunteers who provide project direction and support during quarterly exhibitions.

TAF programming incorporates workshops, delivered by community partners and volunteers, in financial literacy, resume building, interviewing, and web development to prepare students for the future. Additionally, we partner with companies to provide hackathons and other exciting program opportunities to extend student learning beyond the classroom. Volunteers have a chance to support students as they explore these areas of interest and practical skill building!

Volunteers can put their UI/UX and Web Development knowledge to work helping us continue to engage our community through our website.

Time Commitment: 9am to 12pm

This panel is a part of the September: “Rush Week” immersive experience for new high school students and includes panels and workshops, led by volunteer industry professionals and TAF staff, on a range of postsecondary and career awareness skills and knowledge. Students will then create mission and vision statements, complete skill assessments, and identify careers they would like to explore this school year. We are looking for volunteers to take part in a panel and share their career journey, educational background, and professional experience. Inspire the next generation!

Time Commitment: 7:25am to 1:55pm availability.


Come help our middle and high school students build tech literacy skills! This year our students are 1:1 with Chromebooks and all have very low tech literacy. We’re looking for volunteers who are comfortable with basic Chromebook and Google tools. Most importantly, we need people who can explain things step-by-step, be patient, and make learning fun for students. We have a diverse set of students and would love a diverse set of volunteers! TAF@Saghalie is located in Federal Way and we have a high population of BIPOC students. Come lend your tech skills and teach our students!

The College and Career Fair is an essential part of our school’s mission to prepare our students, many of whom are first-generation college-bound students and 78% of whom are students of color, for post-secondary success.

We need 6-10 volunteers to sit in during class time, where a moderator will ask you questions about your career journey, educational background, and experience at your industry. Inspire the next generation to consider careers in STEM!

We are looking for Video Game Developers to help with curriculum writing and teaching the course. These volunteers will work closely with students and help them design their own projects throughout the school year.

Support our 8th graders as they prepare their project for our annual invent for Impact event! We are looking for volunteers who can help our students work with microcontrollers, specifically Micro:bits and Arduino
