TAF Academy students awarded scholarships from Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle

 In Uncategorized

Last Friday, four TAF Academy seniors received the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) scholarship award, each in the amount of $2,500!

The ULMS is in its second year of partnership with TAF Academy, supporting the school’s college and career readiness programs through the their own program Project Ready. The four recipients presented with the scholarship were Gurleen Bassi, Kamryn Bong, Katherin Guzman and Torri Brown.

Two of the recipients, Gurleen and Katherin, participated in the National Urban League Youth Summit, a national youth-led conference where they represented Seattle area young people and shared their visions for themselves and their peers.

Additionally, three TAF Academy underclassmen, Christopher Calimlim, Austin Dezeeuw, and Morgan Washington volunteered their time to greet visitors arriving at the ULMS Breakfast which was much appreciated.

Congratulations to our TAF Academy students and their continuous display of excellence, within the community, in their studies, and beyond!
