Art as a Social Catalyst
TAF defines STEM as more than a loose assortment of academic subjects. They are interrelated disciplines that give students what we call STEM literacy—a way of “learning how to learn” that is vital to success in this rapidly changing world.
That means our kids create, present, collaborate, research, produce and teach. During this year’s first semester, students studied artwork used to create change in the world, chose a cause of their own – ranging from endangered species to driving safety standards – and created artwork meant to evoke change in their world.
Throughout this process, students developed skills in drawing and photo manipulation using industry-standard software including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Join us for a student art opening that celebrates individual creativity and advocacy through digital art, featuring student artists from TAF Academy’s computer art course.
