Comcast Innovation Challenge: Winners Revealed

The results are in!

Last week, 6 teams of TAF@Saghalie students competed in the third annual TAF x Comcast Innovation Challenge, a telecommunications hackathon developed in partnership between TAF and Comcast NBCUniversal. Student teams were tasked to “hack” a problem using the power of telecommunications. This year, students needed to develop a real-word solution to address accessibility barriers for people with disabilities. During the research and development process of six months, student teams received coaching and guidance from TAF@Saghalie science teacher and CIC teacher advisor, Brandon Carlisle, and several Comcast employee-mentors.

This year, the final presentations were transformed into a public live stream. Over 600 viewers tuned in to watch and vote by ranking teams on the criteria of process, product, and presentation. Teams had the opportunity to win one of three prizes. Since the event, the results of over 350 casted votes have been compiled to determine the prize-winning teams.
