Friendraiser: Cheers to New Connections

 In #TAFEvents, #TeamTAF, Uncategorized

Our awesome Friendraiser  happened last month on behalf of Marylou Brannan and the rest of the Microsoft Alumni Network. Held at Wimmer Solutions, friends from TAF, Wimmer and Microsoft came together in an informal setting to spend the evening getting to know one another and more importantly getting to know TAF. Ethan Stowell, a widely recognized chef in the Seattle area, provided amazing food which kept everyone full and plenty of drinks keeping the crowd lively.

The main event of the night happened as everyone gathered closely together to give their attention to three brave TAF Academy students as they presented their research around various topics as an example of the type of work students produce at our school. Asilia one of our TAF Academy 11th graders, gave a presentation about wearable technology to monitor sickle cell anemia. It was clear to everyone how we’ve been preparing our students for leadership, through the way they commanded the room, the projection of their voices, and the depth of their work.

Wimmer Solutions CEO Matt Sauri then gave an intimate introduction to Trish, our own CEO, while committing to another 20 years of their support to TAF.

The evening wrapped after Trish shared her vision for the next 20 years of TAF with spotlights on the importance of transforming public school systems and rethinking what STEM education truly means. Thanks to everyone who came out and chatted with us!
