On a new note, I’m very excited to welcome C’Ardiss “CC” Gardner Gleser, our new TechStart Program Director! I asked CC if she wouldn’t mind introducing herself here, and here’s what she had to say:

Hi All! I am so happy to be here at TAF, as the new program director for TechStart!

My name is C’Ardiss Gardner Gleser, but I like to be called CC. I worked in software for a number of years and I volunteer a lot in the community around education and access to education. At my last job, I was the Outreach Coordinator in the Diversity and Community Office at University Prep, an independent school in North Seattle. What I enjoyed most about that job was working with the families and being on a position to advocate for them; whether it be setting up interpretation services for our ELL families or helping to coordinate a community wide potluck around the book The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I am happy about being at TAF and being able to combine my passions around education and my love for technology into one job; I love the feeling of having the opportunity do community work at work.

Some things about me:

I love, love coffee ice cream.

I have three children ages, 19 yrs, 10 yrs, and 5 yrs. They keep my husband and me very busy, but they are a lot of fun!

A few of my favorite books are Quicksand by Nella Larsen, Plum Bun by Jessie Fauset, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, and An Autobiography of an ex-Colored Man by James Weldon Johnson.

While, this is only my fourth week, I already feel at home and I know that I am going to love it here.

Thank you,

CC
