Meet Ibijoke, Education Team Program Coordinator

Ibijoke Idowu - Program Coordinator, Education Team

Pete Schoen
Instructional Coach, School Transformation

Ibijoke (Ibi) is responsible for interviewing and recruiting teachers of color for the Martinez Fellowship. She supports the overall Martinez Fellowship Program and the Edwork Program’s data evaluation process and assists in the creation of program marketing materials to promote Education programs to outside stakeholders. Ibi also plays a large role in coordinating various Education Team events, including Martinez Fellowship seminars and conferences and TAF’s new initiative for current and rising teachers of color, Network for Ed Work.

Ibi’s passion for education stems from several years working at volunteering for Seattle Public Schools (SPS) where she regularly collaborated across teams. While at SPS, she brought her knowledge of financial literacy to elementary classrooms, helping underrepresented students understand the value of strong financial practices. That is also where Ibi developed her passion for equitable education and students.
At TAF, Ibi hopes her work with Washington State educators of color will transcend and have a lasting effect on the quality of education for students. She is excited to be able to contribute her knowledge of education and classroom practices to plan meaningful workshops and seminars for a network of teachers of color.
